About Zetamu

A learning platform built by people who shipped learning at the scale you operate.

Founded in San Francisco in 2020 by an ex-Coursera principal engineer and a former Uber L&D head, Zetamu now powers 1.84 million active learners across 312 enterprise rollouts — and closed a $42M Series B led by Accel in March 2024.

Founders

Engineering rigor meets enterprise learning operations.

The company was founded on a single observation: corporate learning platforms were being designed by people who had never operated a large workforce, and the people who had operated large workforces had never been given the engineering tools to fix it. Zetamu is what happens when both halves of that problem sit in the same room.

Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Amara Osei

Amara spent seven years as a principal engineer at Coursera, where she led the personalization infrastructure that served the platform's first million paid enterprise learners. She holds a PhD in computational learning sciences from Stanford and started Zetamu after watching her former customers buy LMS renewals that solved none of the problems she'd seen firsthand.

Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer

Liam Castellanos

Liam ran the global Learning & Development function at Uber through its post-IPO scale-up, managing reskilling budgets across 22,000 employees in 47 countries. He joined Amara to build the operating layer that engineering alone cannot deliver — the procurement integrations, the measurement frameworks, and the change-management practice that turn a platform into a working program.
